What is Pinefallow Park?

Pinefallow Park is a TRPG (text-based roleplaying game) founded by Amy Jackson in 2020. Her previous TRPGs (From Dust to Dust; Indieville; The Atoll State) gathered about 700 members over the span of 3 years. Collectively, they submitted about 5,600 pieces of fanart, and The Atoll State's members collaboratively wrote 343,015 words in its first two months of activity.

Pinefallow Park is intended to be an intimate gaming experience; as a result, only a very small number of members will be admitted. The events have been preplanned, although the results and direction of the plot are completely in the members' hands. The story is projected to last for 6-8 months. When the plot has concluded, so will the group.

What is a TRPG?

A TRPG is a storytelling game told through writing, in which all members assume the roles of characters they have created and work together to weave a narrative. Think of D&D without the dice, LARPing if it wasn't in person, and video games without the computers.

Because there is no in-person requirement, members can come from anywhere in the world. This also means that you can join in whenever you please instead of blocking out sections of your busy schedule to participate -- the events and messages will always be there, waiting for you to reply.

How do I play?

Events will be posted on this website every month, setting the scenario for the next stage of the plot. Then, on Discord (a messaging service popular in the gaming community -- think a mix between forums and texting), the members play out the scenario, acting as their characters. In this manner, a larger story plays out over time.

Additionally, not all roleplaying needs to take place in the public forms! Roleplaying groups are an excellent place to make friends, and so most activity occurs as members go into direct messages with each other to play out private conversations between their characters.

How do I join?

First, read the Rules, Plot, and Setting. Then navigate to Character Creation to learn how to make your own character. Finally, when you're ready to submit, go to Apply and send the character in. It's that easy!
